Bio
I have been a graduate research assistant in the Healthcare Robotics Lab (HRL) since May 2007. I am in the Robotics PhD program under the advisement of Prof. Charlie Kemp. My MS is in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2008. My BS is in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2006. My background includes experience in industrial automation designing and installing process control systems. Desiring to pursue more pervasive application of automation technology, I am now active in robotics research relevant to both human robot interaction and assistive robots.
My goal is the development of autonomous mobile manipulation systems and techniques that show the utility and capability of assistive personal robots. Toward this end, I have been part of a team which has developed a laser pointer interface for robots. My current research projects involve extending the laser pointer interface's capabilities, robotic manipulation, and dynamical robot sensing.
